Masato
MASATO
Masato originates from a town just outside of Tokyo originally where he trained and qualified as a hair stylist. Although a successful hair stylist, the ever-adventurous Masato wanted a new challenge and decided to move to the UK to study English in Brighton.
Masato was happy to be working for the GILES label he soon realised that he wanted to create his own label.
Masato set up Masato in 2011 with his partner Mike. Working as an independent designer allowed Masato the freedom to put together his own collections and continue working for Giles and other well known designers such as Kinder Agguguni.
After Brighton Fashion Week in June 2011, he was approached by Ghost to design for them in December of that year decided to concentrate on being head designer for Ghost leaving the Giles Deacon team & expand his own label MASATO.
